Vegan Strawberry Boba (Tapioca-Free!)

A fun, kid-friendly kitchen project — and totally vegan thanks to agar agar, our favorite plant-based gelatin substitute.

šŸ“‹ Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen or fresh strawberries šŸ“

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 tsp agar agar powder

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (or your favorite liquid sweetener)

šŸ”Ŗ Directions

  1. Blend it up: Combine strawberries, water, agar agar, and maple syrup in a blender and puree until smooth.

  2. Heat & dissolve: Pour into a saucepan and bring to a full boil. Keep it boiling for 3–4 minutes while stirring — this step ensures the agar agar activates properly.

  3. Fill the molds: Carefully pour the hot mixture into boba molds or any small silicone mold.

  4. Chill: Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until the pearls are firm.

  5. Enjoy: Pop them out and add to your favorite strawberry milk or iced drink. So good! šŸ˜‹šŸ’—

✨ Tip: Agar agar sets quickly as it cools — work fast when pouring into the molds for perfectly round pearls.
